Projects

Our hands-on sustainability projects over the years, include building an educational church-based community garden, constructing and demonstrating solar space heaters, building a rain garden and greenhouse at our site, a grant-funded solar hot water project with hands-on installation training and data-gathering, plus partnering with high school students to identify sunny roofs and educate residents in an urban neighborhood.  We’ve also sponsored dozens of shorter (2-hour) how-to workshops.  Recently we concluded a 2-year urban organic community garden  project  to aid food insecure families and we've engaged in events and activities aimed at pushing Duke Energy, our local utility, to reduce reliance on fracked gas.
